White-Spunner Construction Celebrates ACT-Mobile’s Third Graduating Class and Signing Day

On Tuesday, May 6, White-Spunner Construction proudly celebrated the commencement and Signing Day of the third graduating class of the Academy of Craft Training’s (ACT) Mobile Campus. The event marked a major milestone for students from Mobile and Baldwin County public schools, many of whom are beginning careers with local contractors, including White-Spunner Construction.

Among those celebrated was Abbey Partridge, a graduate of ACT-Mobile and Baker High School, who officially signed on as an apprentice with White-Spunner Construction. Abbey will begin working in the coming weeks alongside a seasoned project manager, gaining hands-on experience as she takes the next step in her construction career.

During her time at ACT, Abbey majored in building construction, earned her OSHA 10 certification, completed NCCER core competencies and graduated as a Level 1 Electrician. In 2024, she was also awarded a scholarship to attend the Construction Academy for Young Women at Auburn University, where she strengthened her knowledge of construction safety, blueprint reading, power tool use and heavy machinery operation.

Graduates like Abbey represent the future of our industry. Through ACT-Mobile, students gain the skills, certifications and connections needed to pursue successful careers. White-Spunner Construction is proud to partner with the Academy of Craft Training and remains committed to investing in young talent across the Gulf Coast. We invite all trades, contractors and construction companies to get involved in shaping this next generation of skilled professionals.
