White-Spunner Construction is proud to announce that our Founder, President and CEO, John White-Spunner, has been inducted into the Alabama Construction Hall of Fame by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Alabama. The honor, celebrated during a ceremony on April 17, recognizes a career defined by excellence, integrity and transformative leadership.
For more than four decades, John has shaped not only our company but also the construction industry across Alabama and the nation. White-Spunner Construction has developed into a nationally respected builder with projects in 28 states, serving nearly every major market sector—from infrastructure and education to healthcare and retail development.
“Under John’s leadership, White-Spunner Construction has grown into a firm that sets the standard for excellence in our industry,” said Jeff Carrico, Chief Operations Officer at White-Spunner Construction. “John is a true leader within our business, and his vision and direction have been instrumental in expanding our reach, strengthening client relationships and shaping the way we build.”
Known for delivering complex projects with quality, safety and reliability, White-Spunner has earned the trust of Fortune 100 and 500 clients, many of whom are long-time partners. John’s commitment to doing the right thing—and doing it well—has made a lasting mark on our industry and our community.
“I’m not surprised that John would be honored,” said City of Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson. “Yes, it’s the quality of his work, but more than that, it’s his character. He does the right thing, for the right reason, every time. It’s just that simple.”
A proud Mobile native, John’s contributions extend far beyond job sites. He’s a dedicated community leader, actively involved in Resurrection Church, Outback America and Gideons International, and supports organizations like Our Little Roses in Honduras, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Prodisee Pantry and the Boys and Girls Club. He also serves on several philanthropic and educational boards, including the Bedsole Foundation, Infirmary Health Foundation and Bishop State Community College Foundation.
Guided by faith, family and a relentless work ethic, John has built a legacy of trust, innovation and service.
“It’s an incredible honor to be inducted into the Alabama Construction Hall of Fame, and I’m truly humbled,” said White-Spunner. “But this isn’t mine alone. It’s a reflection of the hard work and dedication of so many over the years—our employees, partners, clients, and of course, my family.”
The Alabama Construction Hall of Fame honors individuals whose leadership and contributions have had a profound and lasting impact on the construction profession and the built environment. With this recognition, John White-Spunner joins a distinguished group of leaders who have helped shape Alabama’s landscape.
