White-Spunner Construction is proud to announce the groundbreaking of a new 95,000-square-foot Medical Office Building and Ambulatory Surgery Center in Malbis, Alabama, for the Infirmary Health System. Our successful pursuit of this project, amidst three strong competitors, highlights White-Spunner Construction’s trusted reputation and proven expertise in the healthcare market sector.
The state-of-the-art, two-story facility will feature an ambulatory surgery center, imaging center and linear accelerator on the first floor, with a women’s imaging center and physician offices on the second floor. Designed by Neil King with Evan Terry Associates, the building will serve as a cornerstone for expanded healthcare services in the region. White-Spunner Construction and the Infirmary Health System celebrated the groundbreaking of the facility on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The new building will seamlessly integrate with the existing campus, which includes the 83,000-square-foot medical office building completed by White-Spunner Construction in 2022. WSC’s success with the adjacent building provides valuable knowledge of the site and project requirements, enabling a smooth delivery of this new development.
“This project represents an exciting opportunity to further our partnership with the Infirmary Health System and contribute to the growth of vital healthcare services in our community,” said Jake Carrico, White-Spunner’s senior project manager for this project. “We are committed to delivering a facility that not only meets the highest standards of quality but also serves the evolving needs of patients and providers.” The project will reach substantial completion next summer.
White-Spunner Construction’s extensive experience in healthcare construction, combined with its enduring partnership with the Infirmary Health System—encompassing over 20 successful projects—demonstrates a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare access and infrastructure across the region. This dedication is especially meaningful to the 200 local White-Spunner families who rely on the health system each year.
