White-Spunner celebrates groundbreaking for Enterprise State Community College’s new performing arts center
White-Spunner Construction (WSC) has taken on the role of Construction Manager for the Alabama Community College System in the development of a new performing arts center at Enterprise State Community College (ESCC). On Wednesday, July 26, WSC celebrated the groundbreaking of this facility with the entire Wiregrass community.
The performing arts center will encompass 50,000 square feet, housing a 600-seat auditorium equipped with professional-grade theatrical lighting and rigging. Additionally, the center will feature an academic wing spanning two floors, accommodating classrooms for choir, theater and fine art.
“White-Spunner Construction is thankful that we are able to help the Community College System navigate this project,” said Jeff Carrico, Chief Operations Officer of WSC.
“Since the performing arts center will be the first new build on the ESCC campus in over thirty years, it is essential that our program management team offers the necessary insight to ensure the project’s successful and timely completion. Our program management team acts as the owner’s representative and is a liaison between the design team and general contractor, ensuring the project meets the quality and budget expectations of the Alabama Community College System.”
This much-awaited cultural addition will serve as a vibrant hub for creativity, entertainment and education throughout the Enterprise community. The project is anticipated to be completed in December 2024. The final construction value is estimated to be $30,000,000.
White-Spunner Construction is also acting as construction manager for the development of a 27,000 square foot workforce development facility on the Enterprise Community College Campus. Slated to begin construction in December 2023, this facility will comprise specialized labs, including welding, electrical, HVAC, and mechatronics, along with a six-bay automotive training area.
