Jackson County FEMA Shelters

Project Overview

Three 10,000 square-foot shelters located in the Hurley, Vancleave and St. Martin communities were built to meet FEMA’s stringent 361 guidelines for tornado and hurricane shelters and can withstand 200-mph winds. Each building includes insulated concrete form (ICF) structure, intermediate structural steel, FEMA 361 doors, interior CMU partitions, full-service kitchens, stand-alone utilities and independent fire protection systems. WSC has also built three similar shelters in Harrison County, Mississippi.
