Transforming a Historic Bank into Modern Living Spaces

White-Spunner Construction was contracted in 2019 to overhaul the Merchants National Bank building’s interiors into a mixed-use development, including class-A multifamily apartments and office and retail space. This undertaking involved the complete removal and replacement of all existing sprinkler systems, mechanical systems, plumbing and electrical systems, ensuring modern functionality and safety standards for tenants. The 18-story building, spanning 225,000 square feet, was transformed into eighty-four upscale loft apartments, with the first two floors offering commercial, retail and office space. The building is now home to more than one hundred tenants and 350 employees.
