The Delamore (Claiborne)

Project Overview

The Delamore is an affordable rental development located just one mile from the French Quarter in New Orleans. Completed in September 2014, this $5.4 million complex features 26 1-bedroom/1-bath affordable housing units, including six units built for individuals with special needs. This project was originally intended to be a renovation of a historic building located on the site; however, before construction began the building was struck by lightning causing the entire front facade to fall to the ground and the building to be decertified as a historic structure. As a result, the building was demolished and an entirely new structure was built in its place using elements that were salvaged from the original building. The new building was designed to resemble the historic building that was once there.
