White-Spunner Construction was the general contractor for this 858,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center which includes 43,000 square feet of retail space for furniture clearance items for one of the largest furniture retailers in the U.S. The facility sits on 62 acres in Pearl River, Louisiana. Construction incorporated tilt walls, metal joists and green features such as an automated indoor lighting system and a master remote control for exterior lights. This project had a very extensive site package. More than one-half million cubic yards of earth – the equivalent of more than 50,000 fully loaded dump trucks – were removed from the site, and more than 25 major concrete pours yielded 50,000 cubic yards of concrete.
